JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST

JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15

INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN
1 Corinthians 9:25−27
And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

CROWN OF LIFE
Revelation 2:10
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

CROWN OF GLORY
1 Peter 5:2−4
Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
2 Timothy 4:8
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
For those who love His appearing

CROWN OF REJOICING
1 Thessalonians 2:19−20
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? For you are our glory and joy.

Guiding Us

“There is something guiding us in everything we do. When things go wrong, really wrong . . . there is still a way to get through . . . you just have to trust that feeling, a guidance from inside.” ~Unknown

“We have to cherish the joyful assurance that the Spirit whom the Father gives to us does with divine wisdom and power guide our hidden life, and bring it where God will have it.” ~Andrew Murray

“The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 58:11).

We are a three part being in that we have a body, a soul, and a spirit. As shown below the body basically consist of blood, bone, and flesh. The soul consists of our mind, will, and emotions. Our spirit comprises communion, conscious, and wisdom. If our spirit is born to the truth of God, which Jesus referred to a being ‘born again’, then if we renew our mind on the Holy Bible our wisdom, knowledge, and understanding will increase. Our conscious keeps us in check concerning sin. Communion gives us the natural desire to seek the LORD and all that He has for us.

                                               Spirit

                                                            communion

                                                            conscious

                                                            wisdom

                                                Soul

                                                            mind

                                                            will

                                                            emotions

                                                Body

                                                            blood

                                                            bone

                                                            flesh

Our guide is the Spirit of the LORD within us. Wisdom will keep us out of trouble, as well as our conscious. Again communion gives us the natural desire to seek the LORD. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, if we are careful we can keep our conscious from being seared. Is there anything greater than communion with the LORD? Asked the LORD to give you a hunger for His word and a desire to seek Him and His ways.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

EVIDENCE

There is so much deception in the times in which we live. I am concerned many will not be counted as worthy to escape the wrath of God that is to come upon this fallen world. Yes, numerous are those who choose to despise God’s Word and His ways.

What really concerns me is those who think they are saved or redeemed by good works or something other than the salvation of one’s soul by the blood of Christ. The fruit of those who are truly born again will have a hunger for God’s Word, an eagerness for daily prayer, a yearning for a time of praise and worship, and sharing of a faith in the Creator of all things.

  • a hunger for God’s Word [Genesis through Revelation]
  • an eagerness for daily prayer [Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus]
  • a yearning for a time of praise and worship
  • a sharing of a faith in the Creator of all things

Please do not look at this as a list of do s and don’t s, but as evidence of a birth of one’s spirit unto the truth of God and into the kingdom of God. It is by the power of love and appreciation for what Jesus has done for us that we take of these four evidences, which causes to draw near to the Lord and He will draw near to us.

All who are born into the kingdom of God, are not subject to the law of sin and death. If we walk in His love and abide in Him and His Word, the law of sin and death will have no hold on us. It’s like a child who stays out of the cookie jar after being told to do so because of the power of love.

Jesus Christ who was crucified for our sins is the perfect gift to all, who were born into this life―so as to bring forth a birth of one’s spirit and be brought near to God by the blood of Christ.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1-2).

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12-13).

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works” (Titus 2:11-14).

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:17).

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (1 John 4:17-18)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me'” (John 14:6).

Are You a Good Person? by Living Waters

Love is . . .

Love is the beginning of a beautiful life shared by two, a life that begins with I do.

Love is the greatest gift to share with each other; there’s nothing more beautiful than two people who love one another.

Love is a grandfather or grandmother who is eager help you to know of the good things in life.

Love is an elderly couple kissing and hugging each other.

Love is sharing a box of Cracker Jack with the new student in school.

Love is carrying your girlfriend’s books to school every day.

Love is a dozen roses, a big box of chocolates, and lots of hugs and kisses for the woman who stole your heart.

Love is a teddy bear for a child who misses a loved one.

Love is flowers and lots of tears at the gravestone of the spouse who went to heaven before you.

Love is to bear one another’s burdens. ~Galatians 6:2

Love is forgiving one another. ~Colossians 3:13

What God’s Word reveals to us about love:

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:5-8).

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-7).

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:7-11).

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.  Matthew 6:9-13

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!

Child’s Prayer

Father, we thank you for the night,

and for the pleasant morning light,

For rest and food and loving care,

and all that makes the day so fair.

Help us to do all things as we should,

to be kind to others and be good;

In all we do and all we say,

to grow more loving each day.

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge my sins and understand that just being ‘a good person’ will not get me into Heaven. I understand that You gave Your life on the cross as an everlasting sacrifice to atone for my sins. I surrender my will and ask your forgiveness for the transgressions of my past. Please cleanse my heart and mind and make me a new person. I ask for the Holy Spirit to guide my thoughts, decisions, and actions. I know that nothing or no one can separate me from Your love, now or for eternity. In Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.
A simple prayer for surrendering your will and life to Jesus Christ and letting Him be your Lord and Savior.

Lord, You made the stars that brightly

Deity of GOD

Many times in my life I have struggled to try to apprehend the greatness of God, Who is also revered as LORD, Jehovah or Yahweh. Most of us know that God is eternal, lasting forever, without beginning or ending of existence. He always has been and always will be.

The next word to describe God is immutability. He does not change. God is described as unchanging in His nature and His character. In the book of James, God is described as “the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning”.

Those who lack humility and fear of God often seek power. If they knew God they would not desire power. God is omnipotent, He is all-powerful and almighty―all power belongs to Him. He the One Who is in ultimate control.

Have you ever wanted to be in more than one place at any one time. Well God is omnipresence. He can be in all places and in all times. He is able to be present everywhere at once. One of the sins of many is to limit God. He has no limitation and He can do whatever He wants. He is Just, Righteous, and Holy.

Have you ever met a person who seems to know-it-all. Well God is omniscient, that means He is all-knowing with infinite wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Well one may ask, am I describing God the Father or God the Son. I am describing both. Jesus said, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him (John 14:7).”

Please note John 17:11, “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.”

Please note also John 10:25-30, “Jesus answered them, ‘I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.'”

“This is He who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” 1 John 5:6-7

If you are having difficulty with all this, ask God to reveal Himself to you. Those who are born-again serve a mighty God who is not limited in His greatness or His love. Seek not the world and its pleasure, but seek Him and His kingdom for there is the treasure.

What

What Christmas Is All About

“Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'”

Luke 2:8-14 NKJV

The greatest gift ever given was when God sent His only Son to this earth in the form of a baby so that all would be given eternal life with Him and yet many reject this great gift.

Do you have the gift of eternal life through Jesus who died for all?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

“The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:35-36

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?'”

John 11:25-26

” . . . The word is near you . . . the word of faith . . . that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:8-9

Please consider the way to eternal life.

the LORD hates

Everyone has something they do not like, maybe even hate. Where I live everyone hates an ice storm. Who doesn’t hate the destruction caused by a tornado or a hurricane.

God is much greater than we can ever imagine and He has His own hate list. You can find it in the sixth chapter of Proverbs.

“These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.”

Proverbs 6:16-19

All of these listed are quite undesirable, but one stands out among the others. Yes . . . hands that shed innocent blood. This happens a lot in our modern world and many do not even think about it.

For those of us who believe life begins at conception cringe at the thought of abortion.

If you read the 139th Psalm you will find the truth concerning this subject.

In verses 13-14 the 139th Psalm gives a vivid picture of life in a mother’s womb.

“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.”

Fetal Development

14 Days – mother’s menstrual period is suppressed by her child’s chemical signals

20 Days – baby’s heart is in the advanced stages of formation; baby’s eyes begin to form; brain, spinal column, and nervous system are virtually complete

24 days – baby’s heart beats

8 weeks – all organs of the baby  function

9 weeks  – baby has individual fingerprints

10 weeks – baby can feel pain

12 weeks – baby can smile

13 weeks – baby’s vocal chords are present; the sex of the baby can be determined; baby can now hear

4 months – baby can grasp with hands, swim, and turn somersaults; mother may feel her movements for the first time; a very bright light shined on the mother’s abdomen will cause the baby to slowly move her arms and cover her eyes; loud music will cause the baby to cover her ears

6 months – most babies are viable at this point (24 weeks, or about 60 percent of full gestation); eyelashes appear; baby’s weight is about 22 ounces, and her height is about 9 inches

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:3-5

“Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.’ And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16

“If man had his way, the plan of redemption would be an endless and bloody conflict. In reality, salvation was bought not by Jesus’ fist, but by His nail-pierced hands; not by muscle but by love; not by vengeance but by forgiveness; not by force but by sacrifice. Jesus Christ our Lord surrendered in order that He might win; He destroyed His enemies by dying for them and conquered death by allowing death to conquer Him.” ~ A.W. Tozer

Hope for eternity

Creator and Savior

Many do not realize Jesus is both the Creator and Savior of the world, as well as the entire universe. Below are the verses from the New Testament which give proof that Jesus is the Creator . . . “all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth”. He also died a cruel death so that all could be saved. Sadly, not all will accept this.

John 1:1-5;14-18

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.'”

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Colossians 1:13-18

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”

Hebrews 1:1-4

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

”When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.” Psalm 8:3-5
